6 MESES BABYYY

I honestly can't believe I've been out for 6 months! Not gonna lie it feels like I've been out for 2 years/2 weeks all in the same moment (times weird on the mish) but I feel like Im really hitting my stride and enjoying the mission, I'm just really happy! Also this week I chopped 6 inches to celebrate  my 6 months and "see" my growth over the next year so that's kinda fun!

Honesty hitting my 6 months I've done a lot of reflecting on what I've done and want to do with the time I have in my mission and I'm so grateful for the progress I've made and the time I have to grow still! last Sunday I gave a talk in my new ward and it was crazy to me bc my first talk I gave on the mish was the 2nd week of my first area and this one was the 2nd week of my second area and the talks were a night and day difference haha. Literally my first talk I read almost every Google translated word off the page and this talk I just comfortably talked hardly using my notes and didn't even have any problems or nerves! It was cool to see and it's been cool to see how much my testimony and reliance on the Lord has grown over these months! Trust me we literally need God in every moment of every day so don't forget that!

Some things ab being in this new area (bc my emails have been very vague haha)  first off I LOVE it! I have been putting my all in the work, teaching tons of people, being exhausted every night, and I feel like it's actually really paying off! We have taught lesson after lesson and my Spanish has never been better. I think it has grown more in the last couple weeks than I ever could have imagined! Having a white comp I've really had to step it up in the lessons and every day life and it has helped me so much!
With teaching people the last couple weeks my love has grown So much for the people here and honestly people in general. Everyone has SUCH hard things going on in their lives and I love bringing people a message of love and hope in their despair. One of these people was Sergio. We found Sergio my first week here in my new area and in the first conversation w us he told me he had done a lot of things in his life that he has never been able to forget bc of guilt and through desperation he said he needed to find Christ and take away some of the pain. He looked deep in our eyes and said he was looking for Christ and he found us. Well it was so cool bc I testified how there was a way for him to overcome all of his past heartbreak and start with a clean slate and be baptized, and from that moment on, through a couple lessons every week for the past 3 weeks, I saw this man completely change and become a follower of Christ w a sincere desire and he was baptized yesterday it was so cool! So many times teaching him I felt like I was really teaching w the spirit-I could feel it SO strong- and one of these times when I felt like that he turned to me and he said (in Spanish) "Hermana Stone, you have such a bright light of Christ about you and I want to be able to have the spirit you bring w me too" and it was so cool to have him confirm to me in that moment that the spirit really was so strong in our lessons! It was so great and honestly we have a couple people in teaching right now that are great so I'm really hopeful! Also random little thing that was also great with Sergios baptism was the elders in another area that share our church called us and told us they needed our help w filling the font for THEIR baptism (which we found out they had a baptism scheduled for the same time awkward) so we combined them and there were no problems, but the super awesome part about it all was when the 2 people that showed up for their baptism that the elders taught I thought "wait I know them" because we were the ones who found them and referred them to those elders bc they were in their area and I got to see them get baptized!! It was a nice little extra blessing from Heavenly Father!

Other things going on-I'm pretty sure I've had covid here haha it's been going around the mission and for like a week I was super weak w bad headaches and a sore throat and basically a bad cold, and didn't think too much ab it, but apparently covid spreading around the mission so I'm just glad I had it before I knew it officially so I didn't have to quarantine haha. We just kept it on the downlow haha so sorry if that's bad to some of you but I'd rather die than be quarantined again! Honestly working hard through being sick was a little rough just bc I had no energy and my body was giving out haha and i was like come on I'm trying to do your work heavenly father, it would be a lot easier if I had good health lol, but I've realized sometimes we need to be sick and have things hard to realize how great it is when we have health and things go out way!

Anyways sorry this email was a little longer, who knows if anyone actually still reads this thing after 6 months-but shout out to the real ones who have gotten this far! Send me an update, picture, or voice recording this week if you have a chance! I love hearing from you all!! Also thanks for the prayes and support, I seriously love you all!!

New area... new comp... and its all AWESOME!

 Whattupp friends and fam!

This week was actually SO good! Last week I got transferred to the lovely area of Jurica (the ward that the new Querรฉtaro temple is being built!) with a new comp Hermana Becerra (don't let the name fool ya, she's white haha) and honestly this week I had a great week!
Starting this week I was honestly kinda scared and not super stoked bc I mean it was a big change. I went from my first comp and area, living with 3 Mexicans, to an area with a whole different vibe and it's just me and my comp in our little house! I was confused why I got a gringa comp too and not super stoked bc we both still struggle with Spanish haha and I really want to get better with my Spanish, but this week my testimony about God and his timing has really grown. Honestly I thought my Spanish would grow more in a house with all Mexicans but this week my confidence in Spanish has grown a lot and I've had to really step up in all the lessons, convos and everything day to day with my Spanish and can't just rely on my comp to say what I'm trying to say bc she can't lol. So I know God knows what I need a lot more than I do!
This week was honestly just SO good! We had a lot of success finding people, bomb studies, awesome comida w families, I got to eat some chick fil a sauce w my Mcdonalds nugs ๐Ÿ™‹ and I found myself being really happy this week doing the lords work and I've never been more motivated in my whole mission to bring some souls to christ!!๐Ÿ˜Ž I felt so tired after every day of hard work and lots of lessons, but it just made me feel even better about what I'm doing and that I'm meant to be here. God is seriously preparing people for us and it's crazy how ready some people are!
Thank you for all your prayers and support and know I love you all!! I hope you remember this week that God knows you and your potential and will put things in your life that can help you reach that potential, even if its hard! If you aren't feeling his love, kneel down and ask him how he feels about you and I promise you you will know he loves you! He is in every detail of our lives!!
con mucho amor,

A White Christmas in Mexico!

   Holaaaaa!

This week was SO GOOD so I'm just going to get right to it! This week basically felt like a pday week bc turns out literally everyone leaves Querรฉtaro for christmas and doesn't really want to talk to missionaries during christmas jaja but we had so many great things going on this week it didn't phase me!
First off we had a MISSION WIDE christmas party and it was SO FUN! I got to hangout with all my friends and a ton of people I've never met and party hard! We had a giant mission wide competition with 6 teams (go red team) and it was basically like a giant spirit bowl type thing with tons of competitions! If you know me you know I love that type of stuff and I'm just a little competitive and I'll do anything to win lol. Well after some cuts and bruises (literally look at the pics lol) we got 2nd overall which isn't bad taking in consideration some missionaries were not very athletic and wanting to participate. It was a blast and my tumbles and bruises were worth it (but rip in the chat I ripped my fav pants :'). Also I killed my mission president, both the APs, and their whole team by myself in the balloon tied around the ankle game where you pop peoples balloons and it was raddd! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
All the games were super fun and my team was going crazy the whole time yelling chants (which chanting and roasting people in spanish is more fun btw) and we got the respect (or the hatred lol) of the other teams bc we were the coolest team by far, anyways it was a blast!
After that we all went to a restaurant called Pampas (which is basically like Tuchanos but way better) and we stuffed ourselves and had a good time! From there we went back to the church and just talked to a bunch of people and had toasts, sang christmas songs, ate cake, announced the winning teams, and just took pics and talked with everyone some more! People all left to travel back to their houses and we were on the cleaning crew bc we live the closest but it was super fun cleaning up w all my district, the APs and Pres because we're all friends! One of the funnest days I've had!

Christmas Eve wasn't anything special but Christmas was rad! It was definitely a weird dynamic bc literally in the morning my comp was washing her clothes and the other hermanas were sleeping so i sat alone and ate a muffin watching the christ child video and then opened a couple presents from my fam. That sounds pretty awful but it was really peaceful and it made me really think about the savior and the love I have for him and my family! After everyone got ready for the day we went to the center for some last minute stuff and then we had our district white elephant and secret santa and played soccer! It was super fun! First off I loved the white elephant (that's not a thing in mexico so everyone thought it was fun- also my gift is the only one that got stolen 3x so i take that as a compliment) and the secret santa was great and everyone gave and got really great stuff (im genuinely impressed w the sincerity) and we played some soccer (which can i say isn't the best idea right before a baptism- which is the next highlight!!) But it was all great!
DIEGO GOT BAPTIZED! YES ON CHRISTMAS!! It was the most perfect white Christmas ever and yes I cried like a baby when I saw him get baptized and I knew without a doubt in my mind that this is the place im supposed to be right now! I've been teaching Diego since almost the first week of living here- with literally no spanish abilities when i met him- and it was so special i think w him to see him grow and have him see me grow! Diego is my fav person I've taught and he really reminded me of why I'm here! He talked about wanting to go to the temple now and to prepare for the temple coming here and it made my heart SO HAPPY AHHH! SUCH A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!
To finish off christmas I talked w my family and got to still be a part of some family traditions and then finished the night with some games w the district. Such a good christmas!!

I hope you're all doing fantastic and know that I love you all!! Go freeze for me bc Im sweating over here in mexico!!
